Edited by the Cinematheque de la Danse
The Cinematheque de la Danse has assembled an image database of the choreographer christian rizzo featuring the artist and his creative world, with videos of performances, images that have inspired him, and films shot by Rizzo and his colleagues that have never been shown before.
Christian Rizzo-s work explores different forms of presence and signs of absence, covering the dancers with extravagant costumes, transforming performers into rock stars singing incomprehensible songs, and creating pieces without bodies for dresses blown by fans.
Although Rizzo doesn-t use film in his pieces, they are nonetheless a powerful inspiration for his imagination. You can see traces of them on stage, and through them, the strong imprint of fashion and music on his work.
This kaleidoscope of punk clips, scenes from fantasy films, moments of dancing, portraits of performers at work, experimental films and fashion-related performances also includes previously unseen videos by Christian Rizzo and some of the other members of his constellation.
